Today’s little post is an exciting announcement of two upcoming poetry readings I’ll be featuring at this season.
The first one is coming up real quick and I keep forgetting to promote it (why are we so bad at hyping and advertising ourselves, poets???). On Saturday, November 16th, I’ll be reading alongside fellow Spillway Magazine authors, Beth Marquez & Aubrey Yarbrough, at Beyond Baroque during the SoCal Poetry Festival.
Our segment will be at 1:00 p.m. and we’ll be sharing the session with amazing authors from El Martillo Press — Matthew Cuban Hernandez, Sonia Gutierrez, and Donato Martinez.
The second one is a special feature for me because it will be held on Thursday, December 19th at the Anaheim Library Open Mic. I’ll be sharing more details via social media as we get closer, but I say it’s special because that is my father’s birthday.
Usually, I struggle to piece together my set, but the date made it a little destined, as I’ll be sharing many never before read pieces about my dad’s journey through cancer, death, and the aftermath in grief.
So save the dates and hope to see you all (and hear you all) at future readings, and as always, #FreePalestine!
